Aric Nesbitt today for a special ceremony in the Michigan House of Representatives honoring the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, as well as Michigan first responders who lost their lives in the line of duty this year.Rep. Nesbitt joined by Decatur-Hamilton Fire Chief Jack Conklin at the Michigan House of Representatives ceremony honoring the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks as well as first responders in Michigan who have given their lives in the line of duty this year. Chief Conklin has been a volunteer firefighter since 1969.“I was honored to be joined by Chief Conklin today at the state Capitol to pay tribute the victims and selfless heroes who lost their lives during the attack on our nation on September 11, 2001,” said Nesbitt, R-Lawton.  “During this time, it is also important to remember local first responders and members of the military, like Mattawan firefighter Nate Fruin and Army Sgt. Mark H. Schoonhoven of Plainwell, who have given the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the safety of our families, friends, and neighbors.”The Michigan House holds an annual event to honor first responders and the victims of 9/11, as well as the first responders and service members from Michigan who were killed during the last year.### Categories: Newslast_img
